and his emphasis on value, performance, quality and customer service. As CEO and Project Executive of Welsh Construction, Mike Schraad oversees the implementation of the company’s operating goals, plans and objectives and plays a key leadership role in project management and execution.
Mike’s primary role is to understand the needs of our clients, and then guide a strong team that provides exceptional service and delivers results. In his leadership role, Mike directs the development and improvement of the business process and procedures, including project management, field operations, yard operations, staffing and safety. Mike also spends a large portion of his time actively involved in the front-end of projects. He excels during the pre-construction phase and uses his strong estimating skills to accurately prepare project budgets. His strength in understanding what a client needs, what materials are needed and who needs to be involved, is unparalleled. As a mentor and leader, Mike passes these fundamentals on to others on his team to perpetuate his record of success.
A man of great integrity, Mike has been with Welsh Construction for over 25 years and has more than 35 years of experience in the commercial construction industry. He has worked on a broad range of projects across numerous sectors, including corporate office, industrial, retail, education, healthcare, hospitality, multifamily/senior housing and nonprofits. His projects have been located across the country, ranging from $500,000 to $65 million and have won numerous awards, including Finance & Commerce’s Top Projects, NAIOP’s Award of Excellence and Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal’s Best in Real Estate award.
