Creating a clinical space that is warm and inviting, but also functional and medical-grade safe can sometimes pose a challenge. Looking to create a “warm clinical” feel to her skin clinic, owner Rebecca Suess reached out to Welsh Construction to create the ambiance and client experience she was looking for.

The space was originally a dance studio for the past 25 years, so demolition of the entire structure was necessary for this new build-out.

The new space consisted of four exam rooms, a relaxation room, office, breakroom, bathroom and reception area. There were plumbing requirements in all but two of those rooms, so much of the existing concrete slab was removed/re-poured to allow new plumbing to be installed. Once that was completed, new framing, drywall and all the finishes went in, including paint, wall coverings, LVT flooring and white oak doors. The final touches also included white oak fixtures and millwork, gas fireplace, quartz countertops and a large Refinery Skin Clinic backlit sign.
