Project Engineer
Welsh Construction (Welsh) is seeking a professional, self-driven Project Engineer with one to three (1-3) years of commercial construction experience and an associate's or bachelor's degree in a related discipline: construction management or engineering preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
This position will assist project managers in the bidding/estimating process, construction project administration, and project closeout as it relates to the following: buyout and management of subcontractors/material supplier trade partners for the successful completion of awarded projects on time and within budget, to meet Welsh standards and to meet client specifications and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
START STRONG:
-
Prepare quantity takeoffs from construction documents for use in bidding, construction progress, and reporting.

Assist project manager with drafting subcontract agreements and in administering of the subcontract document requirements.

Review project documents and draft subcontractor submittal requirements log for project manager review/approval.

Assist in pre-bid walkthrough and documenting of preconstruction existing conditions.

Issue instructions to bidders, invitations to bid, and addenda with PM direction/approval.

Assist in submission of building permit applications.

Review and process shop drawings and submittals, keeping updated logs.

Maintain project logs for plans, plan distribution, RFIs, and submittals from project start through completion.

Communicate with city officials to facilitate project permit process.
STAY STRONG:

Assist in submission of request for information to design team members and keep RFI log updated and distributed to the project team.

Edit and distribute project meeting minutes weekly.

Assist with written correspondence to clients and/or subcontractors.

Complete daily input of project costs including contracts, change orders, pending costs, purchase orders, labor, other, etc. for PM review and approval.

Ensure all required project documentation is comprehensive and completed accurately according to Company Policy and Procedure.

Participate in monthly job cost forecast meeting reviewing buyout/actual/forecast projections.
FINISH STRONG:

Assemble, organize, and distribute the Operations and Maintenance Manuals, As-builts, and other project documentation within time frames during final months of project.

Prepare project archive documents upon receipt of final payment, and ensure information is filed in the warehouse.

Distribute initial project punch list after PM has assigned items to subtrade partners and assists in ensuring timely completion. Gathers and records project punch list completion sheets for PM review/approval.

Maintains confidentiality of company business, subcontractor, and personnel issues.
