FIDELITY BANK

Office | General Contractor/Demo/Build-Out | 17,000 SF | Edina, MN

As a proud client of Fidelity Bank, it was with great honor that Welsh was selected to be the General Contractor for their full floor renovation and second floor expansion of their current 17,000 square-foot office space in Edina. Fidelity’s build-out included a large new break room for employees, open office space, private offices, multiple conference rooms, mother’s room and a new climate-controlled IT server room. Fidelity pursued this project in order to create a more modern work environment for employees that emphasizes collaboration, access to daylight and an open feel for optimal employee satisfaction. Welsh began the project by doing the demolition of all existing ceiling, walls, plumbing, electrical and flooring. As a design/build project, there was a lot of collaboration amongst teams that Welsh managed and oversaw. Challenged with a tight timeline, constant communication was a top priority. The toughest challenge this project faced was trying to mitigate the impact of the carpet delay. A month before project completion, the carpet manufacturer notified Welsh that the Fidelity carpet order was lost due to switch over of their purchasing systems, resulting in a delivery date almost three months later than expected. Welsh kept continuous communication with the manufacturer, installer, furniture supplier and client throughout this issue to move forward with the best possible solution to finish the project as smoothly as possible and in the best interest of the client. Welsh installed temporary carpet to complete the project, install furniture, and move the client into the space on time. Waiting for the carpet to arrive, there were numerous planning meetings to phase the lift of furniture and install the new carpet during off hours to limit the disruption to the client. In the end, the client was very happy with how Welsh  handled the situation and very satisfied with their new space.
