Founded in the Twin Cities in 1977, Welsh Construction is locally owned and operated and delivers a full suite of commercial construction services, from ground up new construction projects to all sizes of tenant improvements, across virtually every sector of commercial construction.

Committed to Streamlining the Construction Process
With over 45 years of experience and 45 million square feet of projects in virtually every sector of commercial construction, we provide each unique project with a full suite of comprehensive, fully-integrated and worry-free construction services, all under one roof. Welsh Construction’s skilled project managers and professional field supervisors streamline the construction process so their clients can stay focused on what matters to them most—maximizing their business.
Our design-build contracting method combines design and construction work in a single point of responsibility. By holding responsibility in one contract, we expedite the construction delivery schedule and shorten durations which, in turn, will reduce cost of supervision/general conditions and ultimately save money for our clients. This method of contracting is often preferred by clients to speed up or “fast-track” the project, so that the ROI can be capitalized more quickly.
GENERAL CONTRACTING
We have been providing the traditional “design-bid-build” delivery method of general contracting since we were founded in 1977. Our experienced team manages our own crews of carpenters and laborers, as well as all special trades involved in all aspects in this delivery method. In this method of contracting, we typically provide our pricing after the project design is complete and construction starts typically upon award.
CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT AT RISK CONTRACTING
The CM at Risk delivery method brings Welsh to the table early during the design process so that we can provide costing, scheduling and constructibility reviews while the design is being developed. This method brings our construction expertise to the preplanning process and mitigates the risk of the project running over budget. As an early member of the Project Team, often we develop a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) so that long lead items can be ordered so as not to delay the project. Like the other contracting service methods above, we are the point of responsibility for the project's timely delivery.

Welsh meets as a full team, including executive-level leadership, on every project weekly. We understand that removing obstacles and being proactive requires all hands on deck in a collaborative approach.

Finish Strong
Everybody knows how difficult it can be sometimes to score a touchdown from the 20-yard line. That is why every project develops a Finish Strong Plan that is reviewed by the whole team when the project starts nearing the 20-yard line, or 80% completion. The team reviews the tasks and potential obstacles in front of them and formulates a plan to succeed despite them.
